Demo Program for FormsNexus for Windows(tm)
-------------------------------------------
This demo may be run from either DOS or Windows and requires VGA graphics.
FormsNexus for Windows(tm)
--------------------------
laser-ready office forms suite
for Windows(tm) 3.1+
a product of RCCO Research
FormsNexus for Windows(tm) is a ready-to-use collection of professionally-
designed standard office forms for use in a business setting of any
size. The program is suitable for use in corporate, small- to medium-size
business, professional, or home office environments. It features fill-in-
the-blanks simplicity and speed, while offering the highest possible
quality printed output for laser or inkjet/bubblejet printers. The end
result is that an office, regardless of size, may utilize sophisticated,
highly professional business forms, elegant in appearance and presentation,
on the desktop with knowledge and equipment already possessed.
The program utilizes an event-driven system presented and maintained in
an attractive objects-oriented environment structured to the Microsoft
Windows(tm) 3.1+ system. The complete registration fee for a single-user
system is only $39.95. Additional users may be added at any time with a
very moderate license fee.
The FormsNexus program is not an accounting program; as such, it does not
accumulate or retain transaction information for storage and retrieval.
FormsNexus is primarily intended as a desktop-publishing-level application
producing superior printed forms output.
The FormsNexus Demo
--------------------
This demo version presents several screen shots from the program showing
the program's appearance and application. The demo may be run from either
DOS or Windows and requires VGA graphics (640x480 16 colors). To use the
demo, simply unzip FNXDEM.ZIP in a convenient directory on your hard disk
(or a ram drive).
For tolerable viewing results, do *not* run the demo from a floppy disk.
After unzipping, the file DEMO.EXE runs the Demo. To view the Demo,
type:
DEMO <enter>
Press the <space bar> to move to each succeeding screen; the screens will
not progress automatically -- rather, the program waits for a keypress
allowing the user to spend exactly the amount of time desired to observe
each screen. The average time to view the entire demo is only a couple of
minutes; the demo may be repeated as often as desired.
Please note that when the screen shots for samples of actual office forms
are shown, only a portion of the 8 1/2 x 11 form (printout size) may be
seen in this demo; in the actual program, the user fills in the various
cells on a form from top to bottom, tabbing (or using the mouse) to the
succeeding cells for data entry. The actual printed forms look similar
to the screen shots, but with precise definition of detail in the final
printed copy.
In FormsNexus, the user is not required to "design" forms as may be required
with other commercial office forms software packages. All FormsNexus forms
are pre-designed, pre-configured, and loaded ready for use. Simple selec-
tions and routine data entry are the only user requirements. The user need
only be familiar with basic traditional Windows(tm) program requirements:
using the mouse, Windows-type menus, scroll-bars, pushbuttons, etc.
The various forms in FormsNexus contain all mathematical formulas built-in
to the necessary cells, including calculations, line-item totals, discounts,
column subtotals and totals, shipping, sales tax (if any), etc.
Most forms include a list-box lookup table for the name/address/fax of the
company/individual that is receiving the form; all applicable forms are
designed to show the recipient's name/address through a standard No. 10
window envelope.
The current date is automatically entered as the suggested default in any
applicable date cells on forms. There are, additionally, several forms
for standard office use that are intended as a single master copy for
xeroxing or other duplication; such forms are primarily for handwritten
desktop use: memos, sales orders, etc. They usually have counterpart
forms in FormsNexus for data entry on the computer itself.
Your company's own header information to appear at the top of each printed
form is entered only once when the program is first used. The header
information may be edited/revised at any time.
Each recipient's name/address/fax/contact is entered into a Correspondent
Names Table; the table is maintained in alphabetical order and is presented
in a drop-down list box on all applicable forms. The entries in the names
table may be added to, edited, or deleted at any time.
After the user has filled in a form as needed, a menu selection offers a
Print Preview facility before printing or a command option for going
directly to Print; the user only need specify the number of copies of the
form to print (the default being one copy).
After printing, the user may continue working with the same form, or clear
the form for the next transaction/recipient or select/load additional
forms into the workspace. The workspace may contain several different
selected forms; movement between open forms is made via selection on the
"Window" menu.
Complete documentation is available on-line and may be brought up most
any time during the work session.
Exiting the FormsNexus program is done by selecting the "Quit" button on
the Main Switchboard menu; the Quit command safely closes all open forms
remaining in the workspace.
FormsNexus program requirements
--------------------------------
80386SX or greater, 4mb memory minimum (6mb or more recommended), ca.
4.0mb available hard disk space; DOS 3.1 or greater, Windows(tm) v3.1
(or greater) running in Enhanced Mode. 640x480 VGA recommended. Laser
printer or ink-jet/bubble-jet printer recommended for best results.
FormsNexus evaluation copies
-----------------------------
The final screen of the demo provides information on the various ways a
fully-functional evaluation copy of FormsNexus for Windows(tm) may be
obtained (see also the included Order.frm file).
Although an evaluation copy of FormsNexus does not contain a "time-bomb"
or program cutoff date, we hope users will not attempt to use the program
after 90-days evaluation without purchasing registration. Our primary
reason for having a low registration fee of $39.95 is to encourage the
legal registration of the software.
The fully-functional evaluation copy of the current version is normally
delivered on four (4) high-density diskettes (1.2 or 1.44) in compressed
form. An excellent Setup program installs the application on the user's
machine. A set of evaluation disks may be obtained directly from RCCO
Research (see the Order.frm file) or from various disk and/or CD-ROM
vendors.
Due to the large size of the FormsNexus installation files (min. 4 HD disks
of compressed files), the program probably will not be generally available
for download service.

This demo was prepared with Trade::Show(tm), another quality RCCO Research
professional-use product. Trade::Show is particularly effective for
developers preparing demonstration "slideshows" of software products and
is available in a fully-functional evaluation copy from many of the better
user-supported software dealers, on-line services, BBS's, and CD-ROM
publishers.
